Description

You will operate, monitor, and further develop the server and virtualization environment across company locations, and act as the technical escalation contact in 2nd and 3rd level support. You will administer Linux and Windows servers, manage Active Directory and Entra ID (including hybrid connectivity), and contribute to the migration to Proxmox and XenServer. The work includes storage operations, backup/restore reliability (with Veeam), monitoring and alerting, and automation of provisioning and configuration.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and improve server and virtualization environments
• Support migration of the virtualization platform to Proxmox and XenServer
• Administer Linux and Windows servers in day-to-day operations
• Manage Active Directory and Entra ID, including hybrid connectivity
• Operate storage systems
• Own backup and restore processes using Veeam and regularly verify restore capability
• Build and maintain monitoring and alerting to detect incidents early
• Automate provisioning and configuration with Ansible, Terraform, and scripting
• Handle escalated Service Desk tickets (2nd/3rd level)
• Contribute to infrastructure projects from planning through rollout
• Implement ISO 27001 and NIS-2 requirements within your area of responsibility
• Maintain the knowledge base (Confluence) and asset data in the CMDB
• Coordinate with service providers and manufacturers
• Collaborate with network, Service Desk, software development, and business units

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science/Business Informatics (or comparable) OR apprenticeship as an IT Specialist for System Integration with several years of relevant experience
• Several years of practice operating server landscapes, ideally multi-site
• Strong Linux expertise and safe operation of open-source software
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policies
• Practical experience with Microsoft 365, especially Entra ID and Intune
• Virtualization experience; Proxmox/XenServer/KVM preferred
• Backup experience, ideally with Veeam
• Automation experience with Ansible and Terraform (or similar tools)
• Scripting experience: Bash, Python, or PowerShell
• Monitoring experience (ideally from open-source environments)
• Ticket-based systems experience (Jira Service Management preferred) and knowledge base maintenance
• Strong IT security awareness
• Reliability and accountability for assigned tasks
• Careful, traceable documentation from analysis to implemented solution
• Calm, structured incident handling even when multiple systems are affected
• Understanding that each system supports active business functions
