Description

Own system integration for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects using the Whirlpool Product Development System. Ensure system-level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs, drive predictive validation, and lead convergence of system interactions and interfaces with systems engineering principles. Coordinate technical design reviews, engineering budget optimization, product readiness inputs for WPD gates, and monthly engineering updates for business and regional PD reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for system integration in Production Development Projects using the Whirlpool Product Development System

  • Scope regional project requests

  • Ensure project activities complete on time and meet cost, quality, and performance targets

  • Make technical decisions for issue resolution within project/product plan guardrails (target ranges) and PD budget

  • Ensure technical design reviews are completed per the project plan(s) and WPD2.0 to support project readiness

  • Drive full system validation using predictive validation methodologies across concept, design, and product validation stages

  • Lead convergence of optimal system-level interactions and interfaces using systems engineering principles

  • Own the engineering budget for projects and optimize PD budget within platform and regional guardrails

  • Provide monthly engineering updates for CBT and regional PD reviews

  • Lead Product Leadership through EBOM management, virtual prototype simulation, physical prototype builds per V&V Plan, ±3 sigma variation documentation, baseline part revision tracking, special characteristic designation/measurement, and closure of dFMEA action plans based on Concept & Design Validation data

  • Ensure product development is completed concurrently with manufacturing to support flawless final product launch

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Engineering or Technical Design
