Description

Lead electrical R&D work that drives project outcomes in technology, product, and solution development, including associated intellectual property (IP). Serve as a technical expert for R&D troubleshooting and product engineering support, proposing and implementing innovative ideas to strengthen the technology roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise by integrating latest tools, technologies, and methodologies

• Identify and validate new approaches to technical challenges

• Document findings, designs, and engineering work for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

• Contribute to IP generation and support project-level IP strategy

• Lead design and engineering of MV switchgear systems (air-insulated AIS and gas-insulated GIS)

• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and protection & control philosophies

• Specify and select components such as circuit breakers, contactors, relays, busbars, CTs/VTs, and interlocking systems

• Perform electrical calculations: short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash, thermal, and dielectric analyses

• Analyze and interpret customer technical specifications to tailor switchgear solutions

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Power Electronics Engineering; postgraduate qualifications desirable

• Minimum 5 years’ experience designing and maintaining power electronic systems

• Demonstrated experience as a project leader or senior project contributor

• Strong understanding of 3-phase systems and power electronics

• Innovative thinking and technical creativity across complex R&D assignments

• Work authorization permitting employment in the USA
