Description

Support manufacturing operations by keeping production test equipment running properly and improving test processes for reliable, on-time delivery of aerospace and defense products. Work with cross-functional teams to analyze test failure trends, perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and support technicians with complex troubleshooting. Also contribute to capacity planning, test equipment selection, fixture/equipment improvements, and production readiness reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product quality
  • Identify component test failure trends and complete root-cause analysis; prepare required failure analysis reports
  • Study reliability/performance of test equipment and create programs to decrease test equipment downtime
  • Support technicians with complex test failures and respond quickly to resolve issues
  • Analyze test approaches for cost reduction, test efficiency, yields, and capacity opportunities
  • Perform capacity planning and utilization analysis for staffing and test equipment needs
  • Select and order capital test equipment using cost/payback analysis; generate and track appropriation requests
  • Improve test fixtures and equipment to boost test performance
  • Participate in Production Readiness Reviews for new design suitability
  • Conduct gage R&R efforts for new test solutions to verify consistent product/equipment performance
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements across assembly process steps
  • Conduct process flow analysis and implement improvements for safety, quality, and productivity
  • Develop manufacturing tools to increase production rates
  • Improve production facilities and equipment layouts

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance required after day 1 (ability to obtain and maintain clearance required)
  • Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 5 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Manufacturing and/or electrical component troubleshooting experience
