Description

This is a full-time software engineering role designing and building AI-native applications and platforms for Eaton’s AI Governance organization. You will lead the technical direction of an engineering pod and deliver production capabilities including the AI Control Tower, AgentOps, AI Funnel, AI FinOps, and Policy-as-Code. You will translate AI policy and risk requirements into working software while partnering with Cyber, Legal, Privacy, and Responsible AI oversight teams.

Responsibilities

  • Set technical direction, design standards, and engineering practices for the pod while writing production code each sprint

  • Design, build, and operate AI Governance platforms: AI Control Tower, AgentOps, AI Funnel, AI FinOps, and Policy-as-Code

  • Engineer observability, monitoring, compliance, and alerting including post-approval lifecycle monitoring

  • Build with AI-native patterns first (LLM apps, agents, RAG, automated workflows)

  • Own architecture across integrated systems: interfaces, data structures, storage, integrations, and deployment

  • Define and defend non-functional requirements (scalability, performance, reliability, security, cost)

  • Manage the LLM lifecycle (prompt versioning, evaluation, accuracy scoring, drift and hallucination monitoring)

  • Optimize token/credit/cloud consumption with routing, caching, and cost attribution

  • Ingest vendor and embedded AI telemetry into the asset catalog and Control Tower (ServiceNow, MuleSoft, Agentforce, GitHub Copilot)

  • Provide dotted-line technical leadership to three engineers (design reviews, code reviews, coaching)

  • Run continuous delivery with secure SDLC, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and automated testing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience, including 3 years hands-on building LLM and agent-based production systems

  • No relocation offered; candidate must currently reside within 50 miles of a US Eaton location

  • Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
