Description

You will work on diverse power transmission and distribution projects, developing innovative solutions for HV grid systems and client installations. The role covers FEED and detailed design for HV substations, engineering reports/specifications, and design input across the full project lifecycle. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and support the integration of renewables and net-zero technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform Primary plant FEED and detailed design for HV substations and related energy infrastructure
• Prepare engineering reports and equipment specifications for HV plant and ancillary equipment
• Provide design input through feasibility/front-end stages to detailed design and design support during construction
• Coordinate with client project teams and internal disciplines (civil/structural/environmental/survey-geotechnical/protection and control/overhead lines/cables/CAD-BIM)
• Deliver projects incorporating net-zero technologies such as energy storage, HVDC systems, and smart grid solutions
• Provide professional engineering and design services to clients in the UK and overseas

Requirements

• Degree level education; ideally working towards Chartered Engineer status
• Experience in power transmission and distribution
• Experience designing, delivering, and supervising HV substation solutions (110–400 kV)
• Experience developing specifications for HV AIS/GIS substations and associated primary/secondary equipment
• Experience across all stages of project lifecycles
• Experience applying regulatory and client-specific health and safety requirements to HV plant system designs
• Experience preparing technical reports in English
