Description

You will translate composite/ carbon part construction data into production-ready documentation for manufacturing carbon parts. The work includes 3D CAD model handling, creating and editing 2D layup developments, optimizing part placement on material (nesting), and preparing data for cutting equipment while verifying continuity between design and production data. You will collaborate with design, technology, and production to reduce material usage without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

• Work with 3D CAD models and manufacturing documentation

• Create and modify 2D developments of individual composite laminate layers

• Optimize nesting (arrangement of parts on material for cutting carbon prepregs and other materials)

• Prepare data for cutting machines

• Check continuity between engineering and production data

• Collaborate with construction/design, technology, and production teams

• Find ways to reduce material consumption while maintaining required quality

Requirements

• Ability to navigate and work with technical documentation

• Ability to use 3D and/or 2D CAD systems

• Strong spatial imagination and accurate, detail-oriented work

• Ability to convert technical requirements into production-use inputs

• Technical education or experience in technical preparation of manufacturing is an advantage
