Description

Senior Power BI Engineer to design, develop, and execute complex BI solutions, translating system requirements and user stories into robust, supportable code. You will build and test Power BI reports and data models (including DAX and Power Query) and collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to align BI solutions with business objectives. The role emphasizes AI-ready BI capabilities, high-performance architecture, and CI/CD-enabled deployment across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Execute on the AI/BI strategy for BI tools and data products

  • Partner with product management to understand business requirements, define technical roadmaps, and translate user needs into technical specifications

  • Translate system requirements and user stories into a robust, supportable design of code

  • Provide expert, hands-on guidance for complex data models and reports using DAX, Power Query, and TMDL

  • Develop and test code to ensure it functions as designed

  • Implement code across the software development lifecycle, preferably using CI/CD tooling for deployment and integration

  • Work with product and operations teams on systems/services the software integrates with

  • Contribute to application architecture design when appropriate

  • Define best practices and deliver training to communities of practice

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field

  • Expertise with the Microsoft analytical stack including Power BI, DAX, TMDL, and Microsoft Fabric

  • Proven experience in software development with focus on quality and timely delivery

  • Experience designing and managing the architecture of BI solutions with governance

  • Strong knowledge of programming languages, databases, and software development methodologies

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools

  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate

  • Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate is preferred
