Description

You will lead Electrical and Software Engineering efforts within Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry (LSMS) R&D, guiding development of electrical engineering, firmware, and embedded software projects for analytical instruments. This senior management role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to integrate engineering solutions into product development, manage budgets/resources, and drive technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Advanced degree plus 6 years of experience, or bachelor’s degree plus 8 years in electrical engineering and software development
  • Preferred field of study: Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • 5+ years leading and managing R&D teams, including hiring and performance management
  • Demonstrated expertise in low-level signal acquisition, filtering, and signal processing
  • Proven ability to lead R&D projects from conception through commercialization
  • Experience implementing development processes and standard methodologies
  • Strong project management skills, including budget oversight and risk assessment
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Proficiency partnering with external vendors and suppliers
  • Ability to create and maintain technical and resource support strategies
  • Commitment to accurate technical documentation and specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking with data-driven decision making
  • Superior communication and presentation skills for diverse technical audiences
  • Ability to foster an empowered, innovative, and collaborative team culture
  • Experience in Diagnostics, Life Sciences, or Analytical Chemistry strongly preferred

  • Estimated salary range (California): $163,100.00–$220,000.00
