Description

Lead and manage the engineering organization to meet company objectives. Develop and maintain processes for architecture development & documentation, system design & documentation, and requirements engineering, while providing business strategy, cost management, forecasting accuracy, and technical leadership. Collaborate with senior technical staff to implement platform and product architectures and ensure compliance with safety and security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide communication forums for idea and information exchange; adapt communication style to team members
  • Align engineering direction with campus and work cell business strategy
  • Reduce costs by streamlining processes/systems, eliminating non-value-added work, and re-engineering processes as needed; share cost and cost trend feedback
  • Manage creation and submission of project proposals and quotations
  • Prepare timely department forecasts and analyze forecast performance vs. historical actuals
  • Oversee development of systems/products to maintain consistency and integrity of architecture
  • Lead development and implementation of platform and product architectures with senior technical staff
  • Define system component requirements, interfaces, and specifications to preserve architectural integrity
  • Analyze new components and development tools and recommend their use
  • Assess technology trends, HR needs, and market demand to plan projects; determine engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness
  • Adhere to safety and health rules and comply with company security policy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 8 years manufacturing experience including prior management and/or supervisory experience
  • 10 years experience in a research and development and/or manufacturing environment
  • 5 years laboratory experience
  • Strong logistics operations knowledge (global and regional) and ability to determine logistics requirements tied to business goals
  • Strong financial and analytical ability, including business analytics to determine optimal footprint
  • Knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes and global customs regimes
  • Proven change management experience delivering continuous productivity and cost reduction programs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and email
  • Ability to work with probability/statistical inference and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry
