Description

You will define the architectural direction for Acquisition & Retention solutions and create architectures for loyalty, promotions, pricing, customer engagement, and personalization. You’ll support key technical decisions across integrations, APIs, data, and event-driven architecture, and produce architectural documentation such as ADRs, RFCs, roadmaps, and target architectures. You will also mentor engineers and tech leads while helping modernize systems and reduce architectural complexity.

Responsibilities

• Define the architectural direction for Acquisition & Retention solutions
• Create architecture for loyalty, promotions, pricing, customer engagement, and personalization
• Support technical decisions for integrations, APIs, data, and event architecture
• Create architectural documentation: ADR, RFC, roadmaps, and target architectures
• Perform build-vs-buy analyses and evaluate platforms and tools
• Mentor engineers and technical leaders
• Support modernization of systems and reduction of architectural complexity
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and Platform teams

Requirements

• Experience architecting large-scale distributed systems at Staff Architect/Principal Architect level (or equivalent)
• Very good knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices
• Knowledge of AWS and cloud-native architecture
• Experience with Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD
• Experience with event-driven systems and synchronous/asynchronous integrations
• Ability to design customer data architecture and event flows
• Knowledge of security, including IAM, OAuth/OIDC, and GDPR
• Ability to produce architectural documentation and run decision processes (ADR, RFC)
• Strong communication skills
