Description

Design and establish consistent, scalable business architectures for banking transformation initiatives. Translate strategic target visions into architecture-ready concepts, roadmaps, and principles that enable both business and IT decisions across the program lifecycle. Facilitate architecture workshops and design reviews, partner with business leads and project/technical stakeholders, and ensure architecture governance is applied end-to-end.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement consistent business architectures connecting strategic goals with operational realities and technology constraints
  • Identify dependencies across well-defined domains and promote an end-to-end view of business and process flows
  • Convert strategic target pictures into architecture-ready concepts, roadmaps, and principles for Business and IT decision-making
  • Moderate architecture workshops, conduct design reviews, and act as an architecture sparring partner to business leads, project managers, and technical architects
  • Proactively ensure architecture governance artifacts are consistently used in transformation projects
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and innovation in business architectures to create value for customers and the organization

Requirements

  • Multi-year experience designing scalable business architectures, particularly in banking or financial services environments
  • Strong knowledge of banking processes and domains (e.g., Front Office, Back Office, Payments, Accounting, Risk, Compliance)
  • Ability to turn business requirements into coherent architecture concepts, roadmaps, and business principles
  • Proven moderation, communication, and negotiation skills with experience working with business leads and steering circles
  • Knowledge of modern architecture frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate, Business Capability Modeling), process methodologies, and ideally domain-specific reference models
  • Confident with architecture governance, domain boundaries, interface management, and consistency assurance mechanisms
  • Structured, analytical approach with strong quality expectations and responsibility; clear focus on business value in transformation programs
  • German C2 and English C1 for confident communication in customer projects and internal teams
  • High willingness to travel and flexibility for consulting engagements, workshops, and project meetings
