Description

Lead DevOps engineers owning AWS multi-account infrastructure, a Kubernetes platform, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security/access management. Own delivery priorities and on-call coverage while staying hands-on with Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS, and CI/CD. Run incident response and blameless postmortems, coach the team through hiring and 1:1s, and help others make the right technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Set and own the team plan: what to do next, what to stop, and why
• Keep delivery predictable by unblocking teams and closing dependency gaps
• Convert production pain and manual work into prioritized backlog input
• Coordinate incident response and facilitate blameless postmortems that produce actionable work
• Lead the team day to day: hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, growth goals, feedback, and performance
• Own on-call coverage and shift planning to reduce interrupt-driven disruption
• Stay hands-on: review designs/code and contribute to AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD
• Drive infrastructure direction: prefer IaC, reduce manual operations and moving parts
• Treat security/access and cloud cost optimization as continuous work
• Participate in the L2 on-call rotation

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience in production, including monitoring and incident response
• Prior experience leading an engineering team (priorities, 1:1s, feedback)
• Strong AWS experience, ideally multi-account, with Kubernetes in production
• Infrastructure as Code expertise (ideally Terraform) and CI/CD ownership
• Hands-on Linux administration plus networking and troubleshooting ability
• Service mindset toward internal users; ability to prioritize and explain tradeoffs clearly
• Comfort in fast-changing production environments with incomplete information and on-call duties
• Ability to use AI tools day to day while keeping engineering judgment
• Proficiency in Czech/Slovak and fluency in English
