Description

You’ll build and evolve a real-world digital ecosystem, not prototypes—systems are used daily and support actual operations and payments. Work spans a PHP platform for fitness centers and Node.js/TypeScript services that connect with real-world hardware and handle network/payment realities (beyond the “happy path”). Both parts communicate, so you’ll naturally use PHP and Node.js depending on the needs of the current project.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend an existing PHP product used by real customers
• Build Node.js and TypeScript services that communicate with devices, payment flows, and handle network outages
• Modernize and extend connected systems while ensuring they work reliably in production
• Refactor and improve older codebases, understanding them and moving them forward

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience
• Ability to work at a medior–senior level and make independent decisions to deliver functional results
• Strong skills in both PHP and Node.js (time split doesn’t have to be 50/50)
• Comfort switching between languages based on the task
• Active use of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Codex, Cursor) with an understanding that high-quality code doesn’t come from copy-paste
• Willingness to improve legacy code—read it, understand it, and improve it
