Description

Take ownership of the company’s complete accounting function—ensuring accuracy, completeness, and quality. Lead and methodically develop the internal accounting team, manage monthly/quarterly/annual closes, and oversee VAT and corporate tax topics (including OSS and cross-border transactions). Partner with the CFO and controlling, and help develop ERP Odoo alongside automation of accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct, complete, and high-quality company accounting

• Lead and provide methodological oversight to the internal accounting team

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closes and ensure timeliness

• Oversee VAT, OSS, DPPO, and other tax areas, including collaboration with external tax advisors

• Resolve complex accounting and tax cases and define the correct accounting approach

• Prepare financial reports and audit/tax advisor supporting materials

• Set up and improve accounting methodologies, processes, and internal controls

• Monitor changes in Czech accounting and tax legislation and implement them in practice

• Work with controlling on monthly reporting and ensure financial data accuracy

• Support ERP Odoo development, automation of accounting processes, and correct data flows between systems

• Provide methodological oversight for accounting topics tied to e-commerce, foreign markets, inventory, imports of goods, and retail

• Work closely with the CFO to further develop accounting and financial processes

Requirements

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including experience as Head of Accounting or another senior accounting role

• Excellent orientation in Czech accounting; ability to independently handle complex accounting cases

• Strong practical knowledge of Czech tax law, especially VAT and DPPO, with experience in OSS and cross-border transactions

• Ability to independently manage monthly and annual financial statements and prepare audit-ready accounting materials

• Experience leading and methodically developing an accounting team

• Knowledge of inventory accounting and accounting for stock; advantage: experience from e-commerce, retail, or FMCG

• Understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow and their interconnections

• Ideally experience with independent payroll processing or strong orientation in payroll matters

• Hands-on ownership mindset; comfortable independently solving complex topics

• Enjoyment of setting up processes, finding efficiencies, and using automation

• Advantage: experience with accounting directly in Odoo; valued: experience with ERP implementation or development from a Finance/Accounting perspective

• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
