Description

Design intuitive, secure, mission-driven user interfaces and experiences for data, analytics, and AI-enabled products supporting Joint Staff Department of Defense objectives. Translate mission requirements, user feedback, and technical constraints into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs, iterating through user research and usability testing. Build and maintain design systems and communicate UX rationale to cross-functional teams, supporting deployment and sustainment in secure DoD environments.

Responsibilities

• Design UI/UX for data, analytics, and AI-enabled platforms supporting Joint Staff missions
• Convert mission requirements and technical constraints into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
• Collaborate with product managers, technical leads, data scientists, and mission stakeholders
• Apply usability, accessibility, and security best practices and DoD standards
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and iterative refinement to improve adoption and satisfaction
• Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and reusable UI components
• Present design concepts and rationale; advocate for user-centered experience across the product lifecycle
• Support deployment, monitoring, and sustainment of UI/UX solutions in secure DoD environments

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of UI/UX design experience for complex applications (preferably secure or federal environments)
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision)
• Strong understanding of user-centered design, usability, accessibility, and visual design standards
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-driven products
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
