Description

Lead preventive maintenance and repairs across multiple buildings, overseeing the physical plant including grounds, utilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, electronic equipment, yard and pavement upkeep. Implement and document site safety plans and ensure alignment with operational standards, guidelines, and site-specific policies for the engineering department. Supervise staff, troubleshoot complex system issues, and maintain continuous, safe operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and implement preventive maintenance and repair operations

  • Schedule emergency repairs by priority and personnel capabilities

  • Inspect equipment and ensure maintenance follows AES standards; record findings in building logbooks

  • Optimize repairs and maintenance for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment/system problems to restore operations efficiently

  • Conduct utility and equipment tests and maintain required documentation per federal/state/local codes

  • Implement the department quality assurance program for completed work

  • Provide technical advice, hands-on training, and instruction to engineering team members

  • Maintain continuous operations of equipment through diagnostics and repair

  • Foster energy conservation and continuous improvement in engineering functions

  • Complete administrative paperwork per departmental procedures; participate in safety programs and team communication

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid Driver's License

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities management, or building engineering

  • 2+ years of experience leading maintenance teams or senior building engineer capacity

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and controls, electrical distribution systems, plumbing systems, building automation systems (BAS), and fire and life safety systems

  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex building system issues

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

  • Proficiency with CMMS or maintenance management software

  • Technical certifications or associate degree preferred
