Description

Lead engineering and facilities operations in a supply chain environment with an emphasis on “safety first”, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking. You will oversee maintenance and reliability for advanced material handling and automation systems, manage OpEx and plan CapEx, and coordinate vendors and site improvement construction projects to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a safety-first culture through awareness, training, and accountability
  • Manage engineering and maintenance for robotic and automated sortation systems (e.g., AS/RS, barcode scanning, picking/packing, conveyors, sortation)
  • Optimize site performance by managing OpEx budgets and planning CapEx for equipment life cycle management
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements
  • Lead improvement construction projects from conception through successful completion
  • Lead, hire, and retain maintenance and EAM technicians and operations leaders
  • Establish and drive long-term asset management processes to improve equipment availability and reliability
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met and partner with HQ engineering for network growth
  • Implement network-wide improvement initiatives and standards created across the organization

Requirements

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical/engineering field
  • Proven track record leading and developing teams
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize many simultaneous projects
  • Experience managing multiple contractors
  • Ability to own technical issues and drive them to resolution
  • Understanding of TPM and OEE concepts and strategies
  • Experience maintaining material handling equipment and large, complex integrated systems
  • Strong statistical analysis skills
  • Exposure to Lean concepts; cost/benefit analysis; labor productivity analysis (time studies, standardized work)
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma and root cause analysis in a technical problem-solving environment
