Description

You will own the end-to-end architecture and implementation of Java-based applications and integration solutions. You will analyze existing application landscapes to uncover architectural potential and build complex software systems and interfaces that align with requirements and release cycles. You will also integrate modern technologies such as CI/CD, event streaming, and cloud solutions into existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for overall architecture and application delivery
• Deeply understand existing application landscapes to identify architecture opportunities
• Design and develop complex software systems and interfaces according to requirements and release cycles
• Coordinate across business, IT, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and smooth alignment
• Implement Java ecosystem requirements independently and deliver clean, maintainable code
• Analyze development processes and automate recurring activities with modern tools
• Integrate new technologies (CI/CD, event streaming, cloud solutions) into existing systems
• Ensure correct and consistent use of infrastructure, APIs, and frameworks: Spring Boot, JPA, OpenAPI, Docker, Kafka, REST
• Own, document, and sustainably implement architecture decisions and technical solutions

Requirements

• Completed university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Natural Sciences, or equivalent education
• Several years of practical experience in application development and implementing complex software projects
• Very strong knowledge of programming paradigms (OO, functional, procedural)
• Long-term experience with Java and Jakarta EE
• Sound working knowledge of databases, cloud platforms, build tools, and APIs/frameworks
• Interest in modern technologies, automation, cloud solutions, and event streaming
• Experience with customer-facing work, independent responsibility, and proactive communication
• Mainframe experience and the typical tools/languages (optional)
• German proficiency at least B2 (ideally C1)
• Availability for 1–2 days/week on-site in Germany; partial remote work is possible
