Description

LegalZoom is seeking a hands-on Senior Web Designer, Design Systems to create intuitive, scalable, high-performing UX/UI experiences across its marketing web platform. The role uses a human-in-the-loop approach where AI enhances human judgment, and you will design, prototype, build, and ship using AI throughout the daily workflow across Figma, AI-assisted code editors, and a component-based CMS. You will own and evolve the marketing web design system and help transition it from primarily Figma-driven to increasingly AI- and code-first so it can be reliably used by both people and AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Steward and evolve the web design system
  • Lead evolution of the marketing web design system from foundations and tokens through design patterns and production components
  • Apply UX/UI skills to simplify customer journeys and create intuitive, commercially effective experiences
  • Bring a high bar for visual craft, typography, hierarchy, interaction, responsive design, and accessibility
  • Refactor legacy experiences and correct visual or structural drift; evolve the system rather than creating unnecessary one-offs
  • Champion UX/UI and design system standards through reviews, documentation, critique, and implementation support
• Design, build, and ship with AI
  • Use AI throughout the UX/UI design process from exploration and prototyping through component creation, implementation, and QA
  • Work fluidly between Figma, AI-assisted code editors, and the CMS to explore and validate ideas
  • Prototype directly in code with AI and extend implementations when appropriate
  • Ship day-to-day web improvements and larger revamps of pages and site sections
  • Use AI to improve processes and collaborate across brand, SEO, product marketing, partnerships, product, and engineering
• Build an AI- and code-first design system
  • Evolve the design system from primarily Figma-driven to increasingly code-first and AI-native
  • Define rules, specs, prompts, tokens, UX/UI patterns, and constraints AI agents need to use the system correctly
  • Design components for both human and AI use, making intended behavior and constraints explicit
  • Test AI-generated experiences against UX/UI, brand, accessibility, and design system standards
  • Turn successful AI-assisted design/development workflows into repeatable practices

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of UX/UI design experience for web marketing experiences
• Significant experience building or evolving design systems
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI thinking, visual design craft, and design system work
• Hands-on experience using AI in your design process, including tools and workflows
• Fluency in Figma and component-based UX/UI design with technical fluency for a code-first environment
• Comfort using AI-assisted coding tools to prototype and build (code fluency not a boundary)
• Strong knowledge of responsive UX/UI design, accessibility, design tokens, components, and prototyping
• Component-driven CMS experience such as Builder.io (strong plus)
• Experience designing conversion-oriented experiences in trust/clarity-sensitive domains (legal/financial/healthcare or similar; plus)
• Excellent visual judgment and strong communication and critique skills
• Enthusiasm for how AI changes UX/UI design and design systems at scale
