Job Summary and Responsibilities

Provide broad-spectrum emergency medicine care, including initial assessment, treatment, and stabilization for a diverse service area. Deliver meaningful care in a supportive, integrated medical environment with opportunities to build patient connections.

Essential Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide care to patients of all ages, from children to geriatrics.
  • Perform emergency room consultations, triage, and medical care.
  • Round on, admit, and manage patients with complex and co-morbid conditions.
  • Manage inpatient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and medical procedures within scope of practice.
  • Collaborate and coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, healthcare personnel, and care-team members in the hospital and ER.
  • Apply quality and process-improvement practices to improve safety and patient outcomes.
  • Work 10 shifts per month as full-time; each 24-hour shift is unrestricted call and typically includes 10–12 hours of onsite patient care.

Job Requirements

  • At least one year of emergency room or inpatient experience.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Emergency Medicine.
  • ACLS, PALS, and ATLS or CALS certification.
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted state license and DEA registration.
  • Interest in a condensed, shift-based schedule of 10 24-hour shifts per month.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing patient demographics and needs.

Practice Setting

The role supports two established service lines within a team-based practice model. The facility is a 25-bed critical-access hospital with a 24-hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center.

Location

Lisbon, North Dakota, is a community of approximately 2,200 residents near the Sheyenne National Grasslands and Sheyenne River, with access to fishing, hunting, birdwatching, kayaking, golf, parks, and scenic byways.
