Senior Software Engineer in Test

Senior • On-site

228,000 - 300,000 PLN/yr

Kraków, Poland

This is an embedded role. You join a product-engineering team and own quality strategy with them, not for them. You report to the team's Engineering Manager and join a community of Engineers in Test who share tooling, patterns and practices across the engineering organisation. The whole team owns quality; your role is to support the team and build shared tooling, rather than act as the sole release gatekeeper.

Salary

  • Full-time employment: 17,000–22,000 PLN gross/month
  • B2B contract for specific projects: 19,000–25,000 PLN net + VAT/month

What you'll drive

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable, robust automated test suites across unit, integration, API, end-to-end, regression and performance layers.
  • Build and evolve internal test automation frameworks, libraries and shared utilities that improve coverage, speed and reliability across the engineering organisation.
  • Integrate automated tests into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable feedback loops and frequent production deployments.
  • Introduce and expand contract testing between services to make cross-service refactors safer.
  • Use production observability from Sentry, Grafana and ELK as a quality signal, connecting live system behaviour with test coverage.
  • Collaborate with the security team to test sensitive and regulated flows.
  • Develop and execute performance, load and stress tests with k6 to validate expected and peak system behaviour and identify bottlenecks before production.
  • Work with developers and product managers to define test strategies for features and services, identify risks and recommend appropriate test approaches.
  • Analyse test failures and production incidents, determine root causes, improve coverage gaps and implement long-term preventive measures.
  • Apply AI-assisted tooling to test generation, exploratory testing and test data, using existing tools and experimenting with new ones.

What you can expect

  • Opportunity to build high-leverage features and tooling for core business domains that affect the travel experience of millions of users.
  • Engineering culture focused on good practices, high-quality code and continuous improvement.
  • Daily production deployments for fast impact and iterative development.
  • Access to a modern technology stack across multiple functional areas.

Technology stack

  • Backend: Ruby/Rails, Golang, Python
  • Frontend: React, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Databases: PostgreSQL
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Monitoring: ELK/Grafana, Sentry, GitHub Actions CI/CD
  • Testing: Bruno (API), Playwright (E2E), k6 (performance)

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience as a Senior Developer in Test, Senior Engineer in Test or Senior SDET.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one major programming language: Golang, Python, Ruby/Rails, JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable and well-documented code.
  • Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks from scratch, using tools such as Playwright.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs with Bruno, Postman or similar tools.
  • Experience with service-to-service contract testing using Pact or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD platforms and automated test-suite integration into build pipelines.
  • Experience using AI-assisted testing tools, or eagerness to learn and experiment with them.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing flaky tests, race conditions and complex integration issues.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Ownership of delivered solutions: ship, monitor and fix them.
  • Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration skills in an agile environment.
  • Strong spoken and written English.

Benefits

  • Daily deployments, enabling code to reach millions of users quickly.
  • High-trust, autonomous working environment.
  • Learning days, personal development plans, workshops, mentorship and language classes.
