Expert Java Developer and Tech Lead, Safekeeping team

We are looking for a Java Developer to grow a team developing components powering Safekeeping, a core process in the trading business. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position with home-office opportunities for up to 40% of working days.

About our team

The Safekeeping and Corporate Actions Development team develops and modernizes integrations between a modern Safekeeping & Corporate Action system and the bank’s IT landscape. The application is a central part of the trading lifecycle and supports corporate actions and safekeeping activities. The Safekeeping system is a vendor solution.

The team focuses on components and microservices surrounding the Safekeeping solution, connected in a decoupled way through Kafka, MQ, REST services and an API Gateway. Responsibilities include maintenance and development of multiple integration components. The project currently contains around 20 microservices, with 1–2 new services introduced each year.

Main responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance integration-component logic connecting the Safekeeping system with other systems, as well as supporting components that expand Safekeeping capabilities.
• Take ownership of overall technical solution quality, establish coding standards, and maintain a strategic backlog of technical improvements and architectural enhancements.
• Mentor and guide team members in technical best practices, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Lead technical architecture decisions with solution and enterprise architects to ensure scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and represent technical expertise in cross-functional meetings.
• Act as the technical voice in Scrum ceremonies, drive technical estimates, identify risks and propose solutions to complex integration challenges.
• Ensure system reliability through monitoring, production-issue troubleshooting and incident-response procedures.

Who you are

You are fluent in Java, SQL and English, with at least 12 years of software development experience in large-scale enterprises and demonstrated progression to technical leadership. You take ownership of problems, seek answers when needed, and work well in a multinational environment.
