Join the Data Mesh and AI Platforms team to shape and deliver cloud and AI platform capabilities that enable teams to build, provision, and operate modern data and AI solutions securely, consistently, and at scale. Success means creating reusable, well-governed platform patterns that help internal teams move faster and more safely from idea to production across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

About the team

The team is building cloud-native data and AI platform capabilities with a focus on secure infrastructure, automated provisioning, identity integration, and reusable engineering patterns. This is a technical leadership and hands-on delivery role supporting predictive AI, generative AI, and agentic workflows in a regulated banking environment.

The team works with product owners, engineers, architects, cybersecurity, data governance, and cloud platform teams to deliver pragmatic, compliant, production-ready solutions. The role combines deep technical expertise, engineering leadership, and the ability to explain complex platform decisions to different stakeholder groups.

Working arrangement

This is a hybrid role with up to 40% remote work; fully remote work is not available.

Responsibilities

• Set the engineering direction for AI platform capabilities, ensuring architectural integrity, scalability, and operational resilience.
• Lead hands-on engineering across cloud infrastructure, platform automation, CI/CD, provisioning, and reusable Infrastructure as Code patterns.
• Design and mature secure platform foundations across AWS, GCP, and Azure, including identity-provider integration, access patterns, network and security controls, and observability.
• Drive pragmatic, secure adoption of AI platform services, including AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, Google Gemini, and Azure AI Foundry.
• Coach engineers and foster best practices in automation, repeatability, quality, and developer experience.
• Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, architects, cybersecurity, and governance teams to align technical decisions with business priorities and regulatory expectations.
• Own and communicate the technical roadmap, balancing speed, scalability, cost, compliance, and operational reliability.
• Translate technical complexity into clear recommendations, decision points, and status updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Candidate profile

• Proven experience designing and building production-grade platform capabilities across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong engineering approach to infrastructure as software, including Terraform, automation, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
• Expert knowledge of infrastructure, provisioning, identity-provider integration, IAM, access control, and platform-security patterns.
• Ability to guide, challenge, and inspire engineers through hands-on technical leadership.
• Genuine interest in AI platforms, generative AI, and agentic workflows, with a pragmatic and secure adoption mindset.

Education and experience

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Security, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience is also accepted.
• 10+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or similar technical leadership roles.
• Documented experience leading engineers and setting technical direction in complex technology environments.

Required qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of infrastructure, provisioning, automation, and Infrastructure as Code; Terraform is essential.
• Experience with AI platform services and ecosystems such as AWS Bedrock/AgentCore, Google Gemini, or Azure AI Foundry.
• Strong understanding of IdP integration, IAM, federation, secrets management, and secure enterprise access patterns.
• Experience building production-grade CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational controls for platforms.
• Ability to evaluate trade-offs among speed, cost, scalability, resilience, and compliance.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including explaining platform decisions and acting as a Cloud AI Platforms subject matter expert.
