Description

As a Solution Architect, you will shape the technology landscape by collaborating with line-of-business stakeholders, assessing existing solutions, and designing future-state architectures. Your strategic insights will drive business process improvements and support the adoption of emerging technologies.

Designing System Architecture

  • Develop concepts and designs for IT system architecture that meet business, performance, and security requirements.
  • Define the structure of applications to be created or modified within projects.
  • Design integration methods between IT systems.
  • Create initial system architecture for further development.
  • Improve and optimize existing architecture based on changing needs, current-state evaluations, and gap identification.
  • Design database architecture.
  • Create prototypes and solution skeletons; recommend and develop design patterns and architectural standards.
  • Define software development process principles.
  • Design monolithic or distributed systems.
  • Develop recommendations for system solutions, including commercial off-the-shelf and self-developed software.

Creating Solution Specifications

  • Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs for future systems.
  • Define detailed technical project requirements, including hardware environment, infrastructure, software, tools, and technologies.
  • Prepare project and technical-environment specifications required for implementation.

Developing Technical Documentation

  • Create conceptual and design documentation describing system architecture and operation in accordance with standards.
  • Prepare descriptions of system construction and design solutions.
  • Document system technical parameters.
  • Create schemas, diagrams, including UML, and technical drawings that illustrate architecture, data flows, and component operation.
  • Develop and update procedures related to the designed system or architecture.
  • Describe non-functional product and system properties resulting from the selected architecture.
  • Define conditions of use and limitations for designed solutions.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–10 years of professional IT experience, with the ability to think strategically and translate plans into operational execution.
  • Deep expertise and preferably business knowledge in specific domains.
  • Experience with cloud-native development, preferably AWS or Azure; microservices; REST or GraphQL APIs; OAuth and SAML; and patterns such as event-driven architecture and messaging.
  • Knowledge of integration patterns and IT security best practices, including OWASP.
  • Expertise across Cloud, Automation, Software Development, Data, and AI.
  • Active awareness of technology trends and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to communicate with, influence, and inspire senior management, clearly explaining findings and associated risks.
  • Ability to create comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and integrations.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, adaptability, learning, time-management, and prioritization skills.
