IT & OT Specialist

Starting with the “why”

Maintain a clear, end-to-end picture of the IT ecosystem supporting production — knowing what components exist, how they connect, and who owns what — so that any issue is quickly understood, routed to the right person, and resolved without the plant being left waiting.

Requirements

• Practical knowledge of IT/OT architecture and industrial network standards
• Experience in projects combining business systems (IT) with industrial automation (OT)

Core responsibilities

• Understand the IT landscape of the Marki/Louisville production facility: network segments and addressing, inter-site tunnels, servers and service dependencies, production systems, shop-floor devices, and their connections.
• Troubleshoot and triage issues: reproduce symptoms, isolate the relevant layer and component, and determine whether the problem concerns the network, host, application/database, or machine vendor.
• Act as incident manager for anything affecting production: assess impact and priority, implement workarounds where possible, and own incidents through closure.
• Delegate issues to accountable parties, including internal teams, network partners, system vendors, and ISPs; ensure engagement and resolution, and require root-cause analysis rather than recovery alone.
• Keep stakeholders informed through outage notices, progress updates, and all-clear confirmations.
• Coordinate with the Polish IT Operations team to support knowledge transfer and adherence to global standards.
• Provide day-to-day factory user support for computers, printers, conference equipment, and related devices.

Areas of responsibility

Ecosystem Understanding & Troubleshooting

• Maintain an up-to-date documented map of the on-premise landscape, including sites, network segments, tunnels, servers, storage, production systems, shop-floor equipment, and dependencies.
• Diagnose faults hands-on through connectivity and link tests, device and host checks, log review, and monitoring review until the responsible owner is clear.
• Explain faults and causes in plain language to plant and business stakeholders and in technical terms to vendors and technical teams.

Incident Management & Delegation

• Own production-affecting incidents end to end: intake from the floor, impact and priority assessment, workaround, delegation, resolution, closure, and follow-up.
• Ensure appropriate parties are engaged, escalate when response times or progress fall behind, and determine when remote handling is insufficient.
• Manage stakeholder communication throughout incidents, including outage notices, status updates, and all-clear notices; record changes and their reasons.

Vendor & Partner Coordination

• Serve as the day-to-day operational counterpart for the network partner, US IT partner, production system vendor, and ISPs.
• Define and commission partner work, schedule it around production requirements, and verify outcomes before closure.
• Provide and control partner infrastructure access, including privileged accounts, VPN and remote access, and service accounts for firewalls and monitoring.
• Drive monitoring and alerting coverage for production-critical components and address gaps revealed by incidents.

Operational Ownership of Production IT

• Own the operational availability of site LAN/Wi-Fi, inter-site VPN tunnels, remote desktop and terminal access, network shares, and NAS as experienced by the plants.
• Administer access to production and on-premise resources, including VPN groups and policies, remote desktop access, shares, and production system and database accounts.
• Support shop-floor endpoints and peripherals, including packstations, mobile scanners, kiosks, label and hall printers, production and DTP workstations, and workflow PCs.
• Maintain operational documentation, checklists, and production IT inventory; agree maintenance windows with plants and vendors.

What is not part of the responsibilities

• Fixing infrastructure faults at device level. Firewall, switch, and access-point configuration is delivered by the network partner; this role diagnoses, delegates, and verifies.
• Designing network architecture or selecting the target technology stack.
• Developing or maintaining production systems, including MES, Signa, DMS, and Comarch, which are vendor-owned products.
• Administering Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, or SaaS applications, including licences, user accounts, and identity or security policies.
• Leading commercial and contractual escalations with ISPs and vendors.
• Managing budgets, costs, vendor relations, or the IT Operations team.
• Physically repairing hardware or managing office supplies or facilities.
