Senior Cloud Engineer

Senior • On-site

27,000 - 30,000 PLN/yr

Krakow, MA, Poland

About the Role

The Cloud Team designs, builds, and operates the AWS cloud foundation—the networking fabric and infrastructure tooling that every product team depends on. The team manages cloud infrastructure at significant scale, supports money movement for millions of customers, and treats reliability, security, and operational excellence as non-negotiable.

This is not an operations or tooling-configuration role. The role requires engineers who can design and build scalable systems and services, not just apply Terraform.

You Will

  • Lead architecture decisions on cloud topology, multi-account governance, cross-region connectivity, and platform abstractions used by engineering teams.
  • Own and evolve edge infrastructure, including CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, CDN failover strategies, and latency-optimized routing.
  • Build and maintain production Go services and CLI tooling that automate, observe, and extend the cloud platform at scale—writing software systems, not just scripts or infrastructure as code.
  • Design and operate a global partner and bank connectivity network, including VPNs (IPSec/IKEv2), Direct Connect, BGP routing to financial partners, and the multi-account, multi-region topology underpinning payments infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams to embed observability, compliance, and operational excellence into cloud paved pathways.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues across distributed cloud environments using deep knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and traffic-flow analysis.
  • Participate in a five-person weekly on-call rotation; occasional late syncs with Seattle may be required (4–6 PM CET).

You Have

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure, with significant hands-on AWS depth.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language; Go experience is strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud networking, including VPC design and subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Experience with edge infrastructure management, including CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, and CDN failover strategies.
  • Experience building and operating infrastructure as code; Terraform is preferred.
  • Understanding of cloud and infrastructure management concepts, including multi-account governance and organizational tooling.
  • Kubernetes/EKS familiarity is a plus.

Benefits

  • Equity in the company through RSUs.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
  • 26 days of paid holiday plus additional company days off.
  • Royalties (KUP).
  • Hybrid working model; office in Kraków City Centre.
  • Commute allowance.
  • Health and dental coverage through LUX MED VIP for the employee and family.
  • Life insurance.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Pluxee Lunch Card/Multisport Card.
  • Education budget.
  • Mental health program.
  • Family planning program.
  • Employee Pension Plan (PPK).

Compensation Details

The starting base salary range is typically zł320,000–zł360,000 per annum. Equity is part of the total compensation plan. Increased tax-deductible costs (KUP) may apply to remuneration earned by qualifying employees involved in software creation as an author for copyright transfer, in accordance with applicable Personal Income Tax Act provisions.

Work Model

Employees work onsite Tuesday through Thursday each week under the current hybrid-work expectations. Additional onsite attendance may be required based on business needs, and hybrid-work expectations may be modified over time.

The employer is dedicated to equal employment opportunities for all employees and candidates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
