About the Role

Every transfer, from any product and market, must ultimately move money. The Global Money Movement team builds and maintains the platform used by customer-facing product lines to move money between customers and recipients across borders through a broad network of external banking and payment partners.

As a Software Development Engineer II on the Money Movement team in Krakow, you will build services that orchestrate these flows: APIs that product lines call to move money, integrations with external partners that execute the movement, and reporting that keeps financial systems correct. This is hands-on integration work with external banking and payment partners.

You will work closely with stakeholders across time zones, designing and implementing effective solutions with a strong focus on customer impact. There is no dedicated QA function, so you will own the quality and operational health of what you ship. You will report to the Engineering Manager based in Poland.

You will work on a platform used across the company, where your decisions affect every product line. The role offers technical leadership support, ownership from day one, a global and diverse environment, cross-time-zone collaboration, and travel opportunities.

You Will

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
  • Integrate with external banking and payment partners and maintain those integrations in production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across time zones to identify and prioritize requirements and develop solutions for business needs.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, technical specifications, and testing plans.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in interviewing.
  • Support the global Money Movement team through a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

You Have

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a software developer.
  • Proficiency in a general-purpose language such as Java/Kotlin or Golang.
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
  • Proficiency with an RDBMS such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
  • Understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
  • Comfort using AI tools across the development lifecycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent English at B2 level or higher.

Compensation Details

The starting base salary range is typically zł 245,000–zł 275,000 gross per annum. Equity is part of the total compensation plan. Medical and other financial benefits are also offered.

The role follows a hybrid-work model with onsite work Tuesday through Thursday each week. Additional onsite attendance may be required based on business needs, and hybrid-work expectations may be modified over time.
