Senior Technology Specialist - Software Engineer (Golang Stream Lead)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Golang Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend systems supporting IT/OT applications. The role focuses on building robust APIs, managing databases, and ensuring a scalable, maintainable serverless architecture.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to meet project requirements.
• Lead and mentor a team of 5–6 software engineers from a technical standpoint, providing architectural guidance, code-quality oversight, and hands-on technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle.
• Split time between 50% hands-on development and 50% technical leadership; this is individual-contributor leadership with no direct reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high-performing applications.
• Identify and promptly resolve software issues to ensure continuous operation.
• Participate in code reviews and refine coding standards to improve efficiency.
• Stay current with methodologies and emerging technologies.
• Contribute to projects and drive real-time, data-centric initiatives.
• Advocate for process and data quality within development teams.
• Gather requirements and help build roadmaps and architectures supporting Product Team objectives.
• Ensure solution quality and proactively address technical debt for long-term sustainability and scalability.
• Follow agile development methodologies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with modern data architectures and relevant technologies.
• Strong experience in Go is desirable; extensive experience in another contemporary programming language is also welcomed.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in Golang development.
• Ability to balance technical feasibility, business requirements, and resource constraints.
• Proven ability to communicate with stakeholders at different levels, explain technical concepts, and align on strategic objectives.
• Experience with AWS or another public-cloud provider.
• Expertise in data modelling, design patterns, and building highly scalable, secure analytical solutions.
• Strong experience with relational databases.
• Proven experience in code testing and building high-quality software.
• English at C1 level.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of work.

Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed systems at scale.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD, including GitHub Actions and Argo CD.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling, such as Terraform or CloudFormation, to orchestrate AWS components.
• Technical leadership experience.
• Experience with containerized environments, such as Kubernetes.
• Strong communication skills.
