Description

We are seeking a Senior Golang Developer to join a high-impact engineering initiative for a leading global financial services client. In this role, you will help modernize mission-critical infrastructure by replacing legacy platforms with a modern, Go-centric developer ecosystem. The platform covers the full software delivery lifecycle—from version control and build systems to automated QA, CI/CD pipelines, and observability. You will build high-performance microservices, custom developer tooling, DSL parsers, and deep IDE integrations (VSCode extensions) to elevate developer productivity across enterprise financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Microservices & API Engineering: Design, build, and maintain production-grade Go microservices and robust APIs powering internal platform capabilities.

• Custom Tooling & DSL Implementation: Develop custom developer tools, language parsers, and DSL automation engines to streamline legacy system modernization.

• IDE & Platform Integration: Partner with tooling teams to integrate backend services with IDE extensions (VSCode) and automated developer workflows.

• System Observability & Quality: Implement automated testing, CI/CD integrations, and end-to-end observability across distributed Go services under heavy load.

• Squad Collaboration: Work closely within a dedicated engineering squad (PM, 6 Developers, 2 DevOps engineers) to deliver clean, maintainable architecture on tight release schedules.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience with deep, hands-on proficiency in Go (Golang).
• Proven track record of architecting and shipping scalable distributed systems and APIs (gRPC, REST) in Go.
• Experience building developer tooling, build engines, automated QA frameworks, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong grasp of Go concurrency patterns, memory management, profiling, and high-throughput backend design.
• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, and cloud-native observability (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana).
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong technical communication capabilities.

Would be a plus

• Experience in the financial services or fintech sector.
• Experience with Language Server Protocol (LSP), AST parsing, or VSCode extension development.
• Background in legacy platform modernization or compiler/DSL design.
