Senior / Principal Go Developer (Cybersecurity Platform)

Our customer is a global cybersecurity company delivering advanced digital protection solutions for individuals, businesses, and communities. Its products identify vulnerabilities, prevent cyber threats, and support secure digital experiences across multiple industries. The solutions operate at scale and protect high-traffic environments against modern security risks and automated attacks.

Project

The project focuses on building and improving a platform that safeguards applications from automated attacks and malicious traffic. The engineering team works with approximately 35 backend services, combining legacy systems and modern distributed architecture. You will contribute to platform scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability while partnering closely with product and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Golang
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and system design
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, from planning and objective-setting to delivery and support
• Proven experience with high-load, high-traffic production systems
• Solid understanding of scalable and maintainable backend architecture principles
• Ability to independently work with large and unfamiliar codebases
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues before escalation
• Experience aligning technical solutions with business and customer needs
• Ability to communicate and negotiate technical direction with engineering stakeholders
• Upper-Intermediate English level

Will Be a Plus

• Experience with C++, Objective-C, or Rust
• Previous experience as a primary owner of a large-scale legacy system
• Experience working within cybersecurity or infrastructure-focused products
• Background in distributed systems and service-oriented architectures

Responsibilities

• Independently own and navigate a large backend ecosystem consisting of multiple services with minimal ramp-up support
• Develop and maintain backend services using Golang
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code; actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Analyze legacy and unreviewed code to identify technical debt, systemic issues, and architectural risks
• Proactively identify inefficiencies, gaps, and areas for improvement; propose and implement solutions
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define technical objectives and execute roadmap initiatives
• Advocate for architectural improvements and negotiate technical decisions with peer engineering teams
• Contribute to long-term platform evolution while balancing short-term business priorities
• Ensure reliability and performance of high-load production systems
