Software Engineer – DevOps Tools (1-Year Maternity Cover)

Senior • On-site

Malmö, SK, Sweden

Start: 1st of October

About the Team

The DevOps Tools team operates at the intersection of platform infrastructure and cutting-edge AI applications. It is a close-knit, highly collaborative team with a strong culture of trust and shared ownership, responsible for enabling the wider engineering organization.

Its work spans two major domains:

  • AI Applications: Building the software layers and APIs that power internal tooling and customer-facing products, integrating off-the-shelf LLMs and internally developed ML models.
  • Platform Infrastructure & CI/CD: Managing Kubernetes- and AWS-based projects, such as new geographic site rollouts; providing infrastructure debugging; and onboarding new orchestration initiatives into messaging infrastructure.

About the Role

Join as a Software Engineer for a 1-year maternity cover. While some team members drive the overarching cloud and infrastructure strategy, this role focuses heavily on software engineering excellence.

You will build robust software solutions, integrate AI applications, and write clean, maintainable code primarily in Golang and Python. You will drive software best practices and help maintain and continuously improve coding standards and ways of working.

What You Will Do

  • Drive Quarterly Initiatives: Take full ownership of a major team initiative each quarter. Define technical requirements, drive planning, and independently implement solutions, such as scoping observability for ML APIs, migrating exporters, or building user-feedback loops.
  • Developer Support Rotation: Spend one week per month during standard business hours supporting development teams. Troubleshoot and debug general infrastructure issues and handle small provisioning tasks.
  • Champion Software Quality: Uphold and advocate for strong coding standards, rigorous code-review processes, testing standards, and sound software-architecture best practices.
  • Develop AI Tooling & APIs: Build, integrate, and maintain software wrappers and APIs supporting AI systems across internal and customer-facing environments.
  • Support Infrastructure Initiatives: Collaborate with infrastructure experts on Kubernetes- and AWS-based projects, writing the software glue needed to onboard new systems into infrastructure.
  • Collaborate & Share Knowledge: Work closely with engineers across the team and other departments, provide guidance, conduct code reviews, and share expertise to elevate the engineering culture.

What We Are Looking For

  • Language Proficiency: Strong, proven experience writing production-grade code in Golang and Python.
  • Autonomous Execution: Proven ability to take a high-level quarterly objective, define technical requirements, and independently drive it to completion.
  • Quality Mindset: Strong background in software engineering best practices, focused on maintainability, testing, and architecture.
  • Cloud & Containers: Solid working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes to collaborate on infrastructure initiatives and support CI/CD pipelines.
  • API & Integration Experience: Experience building robust APIs and system integrations, ideally including AI/ML application endpoints.
  • Team Player: Collaborative, service-oriented mindset and comfort supporting developers in other teams during rotation weeks.
