Senior DevOps Engineer (ephemeral environments)

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a project for a Norwegian financial-services client.

The project

Development of a cloud platform that supports accounting firms and financial professionals in managing daily processes. The system brings together task and workflow management, client communication, and compliance processes, including AML and KYC. The solution is intended to be used by more than 3,000 business users daily.

Requirements

• Senior-level DevOps Engineer experience and experience working with production environments
• Hands-on experience creating and managing ephemeral environments
• Strong AWS knowledge and experience maintaining cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code knowledge, particularly Terraform
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining CI/CD processes
• Good knowledge of observability, monitoring and cloud-environment security
• Production ownership experience and focus on environment stability, availability and reliability
• Ability to independently diagnose and solve complex infrastructure problems
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying improvement areas
• Very good English skills (minimum C1) for international collaboration

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Fargate
• Experience with CircleCI and GitHub
• Experience designing and optimising infrastructure for scalable SaaS applications
• Experience with high-user-volume systems and demanding availability requirements
• Experience in financial, accounting or RegTech projects

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise the cloud infrastructure of an AWS-based application
• Design, develop and maintain ephemeral environments to support efficient development and testing
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines and improve build, test and deployment processes
• Ensure the stability and reliability of production environments and take production ownership
• Develop observability, monitoring and security solutions
• Diagnose infrastructure and production issues and identify root causes
• Collaborate with developers on new feature delivery and infrastructure design
• Analyse the existing environment and DevOps backlog to identify optimisation and automation opportunities
• Maintain infrastructure quality, scalability and security, and propose improvements supporting product growth
