As a Software/Platform Engineer, you will join the Release Engineering and Platform team and help build the tooling, pipelines, and environments that take software from a developer’s machine into production. This is a hands-on engineering role combining software development with DevOps and platform engineering. You will build internal tools and automation, work with CI/CD, Kubernetes, and GitOps, and eliminate manual processes across the software delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain deployment and release pipelines that improve reliability and minimize manual intervention.
  • Develop internal release and developer tooling to automate packaging, approvals, deployments, and other release workflows.
  • Build and maintain engineering tools using Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, combining backend automation with web-based interfaces where needed.
  • Create reusable GitLab CI templates, Helm charts, and ArgoCD applications that enable engineering teams to self-serve their build and deployment processes.
  • Containerize and modernize QA and lower environments using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Ansible, improving consistency and production parity.
  • Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, and environment-specific issues with software engineering, QA, and database teams.
  • Drive adoption of GitOps and modern CI/CD practices across engineering teams.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development, testing, investigation, refactoring, and automation of repetitive operational work.
  • Maintain technical documentation and runbooks and share knowledge across distributed engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, release engineering, or a similar hands-on technical role.
  • Strong software development experience, with the ability to build maintainable internal tools and automation rather than focusing solely on infrastructure configuration.
  • Hands-on coding experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Strong experience with Python and Bash/shell scripting for building automation and engineering tooling.
  • Practical experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI/CD and/or Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including application containerization, deployments, and environment management.
  • Experience with GitOps and deployment/configuration tooling, such as ArgoCD, Helm, and Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of Git workflows, versioning practices, testing, and modern software delivery principles.
  • An automation-first mindset and the ability to identify repetitive or manual processes and replace them with reliable, scalable tooling.
  • Openness to using modern AI development tools to improve coding, troubleshooting, testing, and engineering productivity.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS/RDS, Octopus Deploy, Nexus or Artifactory, Prometheus, Grafana, Rancher, ELK, SQL Server/DBA workflows, secure SDLC/SOC environments, or legacy application migrations.
