Project

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the API Portal platform, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security. The role includes managing AWS-based infrastructure, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, supporting containerized applications, improving observability, and providing production support. You will collaborate closely with software engineers to streamline deployment processes and enable efficient software delivery across multiple environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform
• Build, optimize, and support Docker-based deployments
• Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Manage GitLab runners and build infrastructure
• Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and production issues
• Ensure platform security through IAM and least-privilege practices
• Support platform reliability, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives

Expected competences and knowledge

• Strong hands-on AWS experience: EC2, ALB, IAM, VPC, ECR, SSM Parameter Store, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, S3, KMS, ACM, Auto Scaling, SES, WAF, and OpenSearch
• Practical experience with multi-environment releases on AWS, GitLab Runner autoscaling, and build infrastructure
• Solid Docker and containerization knowledge
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience
• Practical GitLab CI/CD experience, including pipeline design
• Knowledge of Datadog, CloudWatch, monitoring, alerting, and log analysis
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of platform security and access management
• Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams

Nice to have

• CloudFormation experience in a hybrid environment
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry
• Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch operations
• Experience with AWS WAF administration and monitoring
• AWS cost optimization experience
• Synthetic monitoring and RUM experience
• Experience with JVM-based web applications
• Incident response, root cause analysis, and operational excellence practices
