UToledo Health and the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences have a faculty position opening for an Endocrinologist in the Department of Medicine.
The Division of Endocrinology is searching for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to provide direct patient care and instruct current medical students, residents, and fellows within the discipline of endocrinology.
The Division of Endocrinology is highly active in serving the communities of Northwestern Ohio and Southeastern Michigan, providing high-quality care. The successful candidate will work alongside a diverse group of providers with multidisciplinary backgrounds. Research and education are important aspects of the College of Medicine and Life Sciences. The Division of Endocrinology is devoted to education through innovative research in medicine focused on the endocrine system and its diseases.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in endocrinology.
- Instruct medical students and residents in endocrinology.
- Participate in conferences and conduct and develop research grants and proposals.
- Work with the endocrinology healthcare team to provide medical care services within the standard of care for endocrinology patients.
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality-improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection-control standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with federal and state health-information privacy laws.
- Participate in teaching programs of the Department of Medicine, College of Medicine, and University.
- Conduct independent research aligned with Department of Medicine goals; maintain a strong record of accomplishments; secure external funding that provides salary support as Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator and supports research projects; and publish as first or co-author in peer-reviewed literature.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of an Endocrinology fellowship.
- Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
- Current Ohio licensure required before beginning the position.
- Ability to teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in endocrinology.
- Experience working and collaborating with a healthcare-professional team to ensure positive, effective patient experiences.
