Position Summary

The Staff Accountant supports accounting and financial reporting processes through timely and accurate execution of month-end close activities, general ledger journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable support, and tax-related accounting activities. This role works closely with the Finance team to ensure the integrity of financial records, compliance with company policies, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and eager to develop professionally within a growing finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post general ledger journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts including cash, accruals, and prepaid expenses
  • Prepare account reconciliation packages with supporting schedules and analyses
  • Perform account analysis and support monthly close schedules
  • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation calculations, and reconciliations
  • Provide support and backup for Accounts Payable activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies impacting financial reporting
  • Assist with tax filings and tax-related accounting entries
  • Support annual audits and compliance-related requests
  • Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting packages and schedules
  • Support internal control procedures and documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting and reporting processes
  • Assist with ERP system initiatives, testing, and data validation
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to accounting documentation and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience

  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, or tax support
