An ownership mindset that borders on obsessive – you treat every system with care and a focus on the best customer experience possible in terms of speed, reliability, intuitiveness and functionality, and you hold others to the same standard An AI-positive mindset – you see AI tools as amplifiers of engineering capability, not replacements, and you're excited to push the boundaries for you and your team of what's possible with AI-assisted development Strong commitment to engineering excellence: TDD, pairing, code reviews, and continuous improvement are how you operate, not boxes you tick Strong English-language communication skills and the ability to work effectively in globally distributed, cross-functional teams – you can explain complex technical concepts simply Keen interest in ongoing learning, both business and technical – you'll gain deep understanding of IG's trading products and financial markets, and share this knowledge with others Familiarity with financial services or trading platforms is highly desirable but not essential — curiosity and learning ability matter more Willingness to participate in on-call rotation — because you build it, you run it, you love it This is a hybrid position (3 days onsite, 2 days remote work) How we work We try to take a thoughtful approach to our ways of working as a company.
