Job purpose

Provide basic career services in accordance with the Wagner Peyser Act (WPA) to participants eligible for the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) program. This federal grant program delivers intensive reemployment assistance to individuals receiving unemployment insurance (UI) benefits who are likely to exhaust their benefits before becoming reemployed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct orientations and share information about workforce development programs and support services
  • Provide customized labor market information
  • Enroll and register individuals in Wagner-Peyser funded employment services
  • Assess eligibility for continued unemployment benefits
  • Customize services to meet individual claimant needs
  • Ensure completion of WorkInTexas.com registration to meet work-test requirements
  • Assist job seekers in securing qualified employment
  • Facilitate job matching between employers and candidates
  • Lead workshops on resume writing, interviewing, and job search skills
  • Coordinate and staff in-person and virtual job fairs and hiring events
  • Record and document services in WorkInTexas.com for compliance
  • Track employment outcomes and retention activities
  • Collect and electronically file required documentation within timelines
  • Ensure data security and confidentiality
