Description

The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Toledo Medical Center invites applications for the position of Chief, Division of Nephrology. This leadership role offers the opportunity to guide a dynamic academic division with an accredited fellowship program and an active kidney transplant program. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor and will hold an endowed position in recognition of academic excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership of the Division of Nephrology.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain faculty, fellows, and staff.
  • Oversee and strengthen the nephrology fellowship program.
  • Advance basic, translational, clinical, and health services research.
  • Ensure high-quality nephrology services across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with institutional leadership to enhance regional and national impact.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or MD/PhD degree with board certification in Nephrology.
  • Eligibility for Ohio medical licensure.
  • Qualifications for appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank.
  • Leadership experience in an academic medical center.
  • Strong record of scholarly achievement.
  • Commitment to clinical care, education, and mentorship.
