Description

Locum Gastroenterology Physician Assistant coverage in an acute care hospital with scheduled, no-call shifts (08:00–16:00). You will provide comprehensive patient care under physician supervision, including assessments, diagnostics, treatment planning, medication prescribing, authorized procedures, patient education, and accurate medical record documentation.

Responsibilities

• Take patient histories and perform physical examinations

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests

• Develop and implement treatment plans

• Prescribe medications

• Perform procedures as authorized by state regulations and the supervising physician

• Educate and counsel patients on preventative care and health management

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care

• Document medical records accurately and thoroughly

• Stay current on medical advancements through continuing education

Requirements

• MPAS degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program

• Active and unencumbered PA license in New York

• NCCPA national certification

• At least 1 year of clinical experience in the specialty (preferred)
