Description

Provide specialized gastroenterology and hepatology care as a Physician Assistant, supporting diagnosis, treatment planning, and day-to-day patient management. You will work with patients with conditions such as celiac disease, gallbladder disease, chronic pancreatic disease, esophageal cancer, esophageal dysmotility, GERD, and other GI/liver disorders. You will coordinate with primary physicians and other providers (including oncologists) and use patient historical data to guide care.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients to understand health concerns

• Provide daily care for patients with celiac disease, gallbladder disease, chronic pancreatic disease, esophageal cancer, esophageal dysmotility, GERD, and related conditions

• Perform specialized tests to diagnose patients

• Treat GI and liver diseases including hepatitis B or C, hemochromatosis, autoimmune liver disease, cirrhosis, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer, Crohn’s disease, and more

• Determine proper courses of treatment

• Consult with the patient’s primary doctor

• Analyze patient historical data

• Consult with other providers (e.g., oncologists) for cancer care

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited PA program

• Physician Assistant licensure

• Attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Good interpersonal skills

• Prefer clinical working experience as a PA in gastroenterology/hepatology (recommended, not required)
