Description

You will deliver new features and improve reliability of core backend services for customer intake, application screening, and information dissemination. You’ll design and implement distributed-system components in a microservices environment, take ownership of product problems, and prove impact with data. You will also mentor junior developers and communicate technical decisions and trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver production-ready features and improve reliability of core read/write paths

• Identify system bottlenecks or business-logic flaws and help address them

• Own product problems end-to-end and deliver data-driven solutions

• Work across the stack to solve problems independently

• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team growth

• Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to teammates and stakeholders

Requirements

• Evidence of engineering accomplishment with a production-ready delivery track record

• Distributed systems experience (multi-tier architectures, storage and caching layers)

• Microservices experience with exposure to high-throughput systems

• Familiarity with system transformation patterns and modernization

• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, or similar)

• Cloud engineering fundamentals, asynchronous systems, and service integration patterns

• Knowledge of reliability and scaling principles; contribution to architecture discussions

• Ownership mindset, quality and documentation discipline

• Ability to communicate clearly and mentor others

• Track record of learning new technologies and using AI/automation tools to improve productivity

• US Citizenship required; able to obtain and maintain Public Trust 6C
