Description

Join an international product team to architect, build, and maintain resilient, high-throughput backend microservices in Java or Kotlin. You’ll own services end-to-end—from RFC/design and API development through CI/CD automation, deployment, and production telemetry. The role prioritizes scalable distributed architectures, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain high-throughput, resilient backend microservices

• Drive technical decisions and author design docs (RFCs), evaluating trade-offs for scalability, latency, and data consistency

• Design and evolve robust APIs (REST, event contracts) and integration layers for enterprise clients

• Own the full service lifecycle: CI/CD automation, automated testing, deployment, and live monitoring

• Optimize performance, concurrency, fault tolerance, and resource utilization across distributed components

• Improve engineering excellence via code reviews, architectural pairing, and testing/clean code standards

• Translate business requirements into decoupled domain models with Product, Platform/DevOps, and QA

• Proactively identify technical debt and lead modernization of platform tooling and pipelines

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend software development

• Strong commercial experience with Java and/or Kotlin

• Very good understanding of OOP, software design principles, and clean code practices

• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend integrations

• Experience building and maintaining production-grade backend applications

• Good understanding of distributed systems and modern backend architecture

• Practical experience with relational databases and SQL

• Strong knowledge of Git

• Experience with automated testing and modern software engineering practices

• Ability to analyze technical problems and explain architectural trade-offs

• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently

• Fluent English and Polish

• Located in Poland for at least 5 years
