• Outpatient GI locum tenens coverage (no call)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday; flexible daily start/end times (typically 7:30 AM–4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch)
• Procedures: approximately 14–16 per day
• Support: CRNA, RN in each room, and GI tech; other gastroenterologists typically onsite
• EMR: Epic
• Coverage blocks: October 12–16, 2026 and December 28–31, 2026

Description

Provide outpatient gastroenterology coverage performing EGD and colonoscopy plus diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures. Maintain appropriate pre- and post-procedure patient care and accurate clinical documentation. Two coverage blocks are available with a weekday schedule and no call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform outpatient EGDs and colonoscopies
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures
• Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp removal
• Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy
• Foreign body removal
• Manage GI bleeding with cautery/fulguration or injection
• Esophageal dilation
• Variceal injection
• Small bowel biopsy
• Flexible sigmoidoscopy
• Esophageal manometry
• Provide appropriate pre- and post-procedure patient care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation

Requirements

• MD/DO specializing in Gastroenterology
• Board Certified
• Active North Dakota medical license required
• Strong experience performing outpatient endoscopic procedures
• Comfortable managing approximately 14–16 procedures per day
• IMLC candidates accepted
