Description

Develop, test, and deploy REST APIs and microservices using Java and Spring, working closely with front-end developers and external web services. Produce maintainable, well-documented, best-practice APIs; debug issues and support integration activities. Emphasis on unit/integration and end-to-end testing, CI/CD, and deployment using Docker/Kubernetes.

• Develop, test, and deploy REST APIs and microservices
• Write tested, idiomatic, and documented Java code
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate RESTful APIs
• Communicate with external web services
• Produce, maintain, and modify REST APIs using industry best practices
• Fix bugs and issues

Requirements

• 8+ years hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices
• 8+ years experience with Java/J2EE, Spring framework, and Spring Batch
• 8+ years using AWS EKS and RDS (Oracle) for API development
• 8+ years API logging and API testing; create REST API documentation (Swagger and YAML or similar)
• 8+ years TDD with unit testing using JUnit and Mockito
• 8+ years unit and integration testing with CI/CD experience
• 8+ years exposure to end-to-end testing frameworks (Fitnesse/Test API, Protractor) and functional testing (Cucumber)
• 8+ years SQL and stored procedures experience with RDS Oracle DB
• Experience understanding requirements, dependencies, and timelines; estimate user stories
• Experience tracking delivery progress using tools such as Atlassian JIRA; adherence to committed timelines
• 8+ years experience with Unix/Linux (preferably AWS environment) and Scrum/Agile processes
• Knowledge of Jira, Git/SVN, Jenkins, DevOps, and CI/CD
• Strong knowledge of Java 8, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and REST API design/specifications
• Knowledge of microservices patterns (gateway, discovery, config, sidecar)
• Experience integrating Spring with Apache Kafka, AMQP, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
• Preferred: Apigee and security concepts (TLS, mTLS, OAuth2, session management)
• Preferred: Docker and Kubernetes deployment tooling and DevOps/CI-CD tools (Jenkins, Fortify, Sonar, Blackduck)
• Preferred: RDBMS experience (e.g., DB2) and NoSQL familiarity (e.g., Cassandra)
