Description

Work on backend development projects using Java 21/25 with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem. You will design and build event-driven services with Apache Kafka/Kafka Streams, REST APIs, and reactive components, while optimizing data structures and queries with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch. The role also covers caching, resilience, security, monitoring, CI/CD, and cloud-native deployment on Docker/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evolve backend components in Java 21/25
• Build Spring Boot services and integrate with the Spring ecosystem
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL data structures and queries
• Implement event processing and asynchronous communication with Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams
• Develop REST API integrations
• Implement reactive solutions using Spring WebFlux and Reactor Core
• Enhance service resilience and reliability using Resilience4j
• Integrate with Elasticsearch for search and data processing
• Implement caching mechanisms (Hazelcast, Ehcache)
• Develop and maintain services running in Docker and Kubernetes
• Optimize application performance and service-to-service communication
• Apply security mechanisms (JWT, TLS/mTLS, PKI, digital signatures)
• Monitor applications with Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, and Loki
• Use CI/CD and code repositories plus software quality tooling
• Use AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, MCP)
• Collaborate with technical teams on troubleshooting, solution design, and reliability

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience with Java, including Java 21/25
• Minimum 3 years with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch (strong PostgreSQL expertise)
• Minimum 3 years with Apache Kafka and knowledge of Kafka Streams
• Minimum 4 years with Spring Boot, including versions 2.3 / 2.4 / 2.6
• Experience designing and developing REST API
• Knowledge of Spring WebFlux, Jersey, Spring Cloud Gateway, Reactor Core, Kafka Streams, Resilience4j, Spring Security, Hibernate, Spring Data, Spring Cloud Sleuth, and Micrometer
• Experience with application servers and HTTP, especially Tomcat and Netty
• Experience with caching mechanisms such as Hazelcast and Ehcache
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of developer tools and CI/CD (Gerrit/GitHub, Zuul CI, Jira, Maven, IntelliJ IDEA)
• Knowledge of monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, Loki)
• Experience with AI developer tools supporting code analysis and creation (e.g., GitHub Copilot or MCP)
• Ability to design high-performance, reliable, mission-critical solutions
