Description

Lead the development and continued evolution of the Self Service Portal by combining full-stack engineering with technical leadership. You will drive architecture and implement secure, scalable, resilient, observable, and maintainable solutions, while mentoring engineers and collaborating across teams. The role includes hands-on development, code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across architecture, design, development, code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and delivery

• Design, develop, test, and implement full-stack solutions using Java, Spring/Spring Boot, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, and SQL

• Drive the evolution of cloud-hosted, microservices-based applications (scalability, resilience, security, observability, maintainability)

• Provide technical direction aligned with broader architecture, engineering standards, and platform strategy

• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, architects, and stakeholders to refine requirements and assess feasibility/dependencies

• Lead technical analysis for complex production and integration issues across application, database, infrastructure, and cloud components

• Promote engineering practices through architecture/code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, secure development, and operational readiness

• Coordinate cross-team dependencies, integrations, technical changes, risks, and delivery activities

• Mentor and coach a geographically distributed team through design discussions, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and onboarding

• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, retrospectives)

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience, including independently designing and delivering complex enterprise solutions

• Strong hands-on full-stack experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot and modern front-end development (preferably React)

• Strong REST API, microservices, and distributed systems experience (service integration, resiliency, scalability, troubleshooting)

• Cloud experience, preferably Microsoft Azure (containers, Kubernetes/AKS, cloud-native services)

• Strong relational database and SQL experience (SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL)

• Automated testing experience (unit, integration, API, UI)

• CI/CD and DevOps experience with automated build/test/deploy pipelines

• Observability and production troubleshooting experience (logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring such as Dynatrace, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry)

• Strong problem-solving and ability to manage technical complexity

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• 5+ years Agile experience (strongly desired)

• Financial services or other complex enterprise experience (strongly desired)
