Description

You will design, build, enhance, and support scalable backend services and APIs using Java. The role emphasizes strong technical fundamentals, problem-solving, and quickly ramping up on new or unfamiliar areas, with team adoption of AI-assisted software development and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and services in Java
• Translate requirements into maintainable software solutions
• Build and enhance server-side services, APIs, integrations, and application components
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions
• Create technical solutions integrating with existing systems and platforms
• Develop applications using Spring Boot and modern Java frameworks
• Work with messaging and queuing, server-side caching, and distributed systems
• Build and support applications in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Develop and support applications using MongoDB and other data technologies
• Use GitLab and CI/CD practices for automated deployment
• Leverage AI-assisted tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and engineering productivity
• Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and server-side development
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting backend software applications
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, application design, and software development best practices
• Experience developing RESTful services, APIs, or distributed backend systems
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a collaborative and iterative software development environment
• Ability to understand existing applications and quickly become productive within complex technical environments
• Self-motivated and intellectually curious; quick learner of new technologies and frameworks
• Strong hands-on developer comfortable working across existing systems while developing new functionality
• Preferred: Java 8+, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, messaging/queuing, server-side caching, Kubernetes, Docker, YAML, MongoDB, GitLab, CI/CD, cloud-native development, automated testing, and application monitoring
