Description

Senior Java Developer to build and maintain scalable, high-performance Java/Spring Boot applications and Angular-based user interfaces. You will create RESTful APIs, integrate messaging queues (Kafka), implement caching (Redis), and ensure strong testing coverage and code quality through reviews. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally and support the full development lifecycle from design to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java (8–21) backend applications; ensure performance/scalability and write unit tests with JUnit
• Work with Spring Boot, messaging queues (Kafka), and caching (Redis or equivalent)
• Develop and maintain Angular (21) front-end interfaces; unit test with Playwright and ensure ADA/WCAG compliance
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless frontend-backend integration
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure system reliability and robustness
• Participate in requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment
• Perform code reviews and contribute to code quality and standards
• Collaborate with business analysts and APM/QA engineers
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in Java and Angular development
• Use AI (Prompts/Skills/MCP) to accelerate the development process

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java (8–21), Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and Hibernate/JPA
• Experience with message queuing and caching (Kafka, Redis or equivalent)
• Advanced Angular 21 development skills; strong TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Experience designing RESTful APIs with Spring Boot and OpenAPI documentation
• Practical knowledge of middleware platforms such as Apache Kafka and Redis (Boomi familiarity)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and dynamic environment configuration
• Unit testing experience: JUnit (backend) and Playwright (front end)
• Knowledge of relational databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with containerization/orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Wireframes/mock-ups experience for communicating design concepts
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and iterative and waterfall methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Benefits

• Pay: $82/hr C2C or $76/hr W-2
• Fully remote for Wisconsin residents; relocation to Wisconsin is acceptable
